California Vacation

Believe it or not the trip wasn't that bad. We left Saturday afternoon around 3 and made it just outside of Sacramento around 10. That included stopping off at Black Bear Diner for dinner. Hudson is just not a good traveler. He hates to be in car seat. Several times he managed to take his arm out of the seat belt. No matter how many toys, books or snacks we gave him all he wanted was out of the car. He finally fell asleep after dinner. You may have since my earlier post about the backpack. Well, Hudson insisted on wearing the backpack while in his car seat. It makes for a funny picture and once he had it around his neck he fell fast asleep. For that we were all thankful. Day two was a little bit harder because Matt would not let us stop for anything. He was on a mission to reach our destination. The boys and I were so excited when we finally reached Bill and Connie's house! Oh, I should mention a funny Ethan story about 50 miles outside of LA, Ethan notices some sand. He starts telling us that he sees sand but no water, so he thinks that might be the dunes. We were cracking up. Then he tells me that sand with water is the beach. I just find it funny how they explain things. We are loving this weather. Fall may have arrived in Medford but it is so nice to get an extra two weeks of summer while we are here in California. Matt starts training tomorrow. The boys and I will hang out with Bill and Connie and visit the beach. I am sure I will have some new pictures to post soon!
