May the Force be with you

Halloween was a blast this year. Ethan was ready as soon as he woke up this morning. He asked every hour on the hour if it was time to go. I was very curious to see how Hudson would react to the whole situation. Amazingly enough he was happy to put on his costume. But then again he likes to follow in big brothers footsteps. They were beyond excited once they got their light sabers. They immediately starting play fighting with them. Ethan was hilarious. As the people would answer their door he would say "Nice place you get here." Hudson was scared at the first house but quickly figured out that he was getting candy. Matt has pulling the wagon just in case Hudson got a little tired. Well, Hudson definitely thought he should hitch a ride because if Matt took off without him he was very upset. Hudson would not leave the doorstep without candy. I must say that was a little bit challenge when someone wasn't home. Ethan couldn't wait to get home and eat some of his candy. Funny he still remembers getting sick last year because he told us he was only going to eat a few pieces. Hudson on the other hand keeps arguing with me. I told him he could have ONE piece of candy and he quickly responds TWO! WARNING: LOTS OF PICTURES BELOW!

He walked to the first house.....

then decided walking was over-rated....

I can dress myself (sort of)

The other morning Hudson decided to dress himself. I think he wanted to go back to the beach because he put on his swimsuit. Next thing I know he is also wearing a power ranger helmet. I found it rather amusing.

yes, he has the helmet on backwards

but it is too big and covers his eyes if he wears it the right way

Ethan's photography

Back in March, we got Ethan one of those kids digital cameras. He loves it. I thought some of you might enjoy seeing the pictures that he took on our trip to the dunes. It is so much fun to download the pictures, I never know what he will find to take a picture of. Ethan has such an imagination. You will notice quite a few pictures of Amanda, one of the girls on the dune trip with us.

Pumpkin Carving

We took our pumpkins to Summer and Jake's house so that the boys could carve their pumpkins with their cousins. Now the cousins had carved pumpkins before and knew just what to do. A few years ago we tried to have Ethan carve a pumpkin and as soon as the top was off he ran away. This year was not much different. He was really excited about it but once the top was off it was a whole different story. He barely reached is hand inside the pumpkin and said no way I am not touching that. He said it was gross. We tried to have him use a spoon, still didn't want any part of it. Finally he gave into peer pressure and took out some of the pumpkin guts. Hudson loved the idea of using the spoon. Hudson also kept taking the tops and trying to match them to the right pumpkin, even if someone was still pulling out the insides.

Ethan was not happy about this

Look at that face

Hudson is ready to dig in

taking time to pose for the camera

Daddy helped carve the ghosts on the pumpkin

So curious about what is inside

Ashland

After the pumpkin patch we took a stroll through downtown Ashland. I really just wanted to get more pictures of the gorgeous leaves that were changing colors. We ended up at Lithia Park. I must say Ashland was a very interesting place. I could spend hours just people watching. Reminded me a lot of Mill avenue.
