Road to Black Belt......

Ethan has graduated from the pee wee karate class! He is now officially in the Black Belt Club. He is very proud of himself. He keeps telling everyone that he is in the big class now. He received his new karate uniform today. It is a little big but we know he will grow into it. With the new program he can attend unlimited classes. He has committed to the three year program. The classes are now 45 minutes long. He is wearing his white-orange belt but is technically a white belt now. Once he learns all the new curriculum then he will be eligible to test for his yellow belt which will be solid now instead of the stripe. Matt and I are amazed at how well he transitioned to the new class. The instructors let us know ahead of time there would be a trial period to see if he was ready and/or if he liked it. Most of the kids that went to the trial class were nervous and some didn't even join the group and just watched from the sideline. Ethan on the other hand jumped in like he owned the place. He is one of the youngest in the class and definitely the shortest in the class. But he is not letting that stop him. He is paying a lot more attention in class. He is like a different kid. He is showing lots of confidence! We could not be more proud!

It is good to be the Queen!

Today was the big ultrasound. We are half way through the pregnancy. It's a boy! Guess this means I am officially Queen of the house! Matt told me several times that he only makes boys after three tries I now believe him. Ha ha! I am still getting used to the idea of another boy. My main concern was a healthy baby and everything looked great on the ultrasound. So for that I am very thankful. I will admit that part of me is disappointed that my dreams of a little girl have been crushed. However, I already know that boys are wonderful and tons of fun. Everyone keeps asking me if I am glad I find out what we were having, the answer is not really. I totally enjoy the surprise of it all during delivery and only found out ahead of time because Matt insisted. Now I am in panic mode because we can't come up with a boy's name that we both like. Below are the latest belly pictures. Matt is very tired of me asking him to take pictures so Ethan took the pictures instead. How cute is that? Oh wait I almost forgot to mention Ethan's reaction to the news of another baby brother. He said "That's great, now we can name him Luke Skywalker."

20 weeks(not sure how much longer that tank top will cover the belly)

Chillin

The boys got mini recliners for their birthday. Oh, how they love to watch movies now! I have to admit they look really cute all relaxed in their chairs. They were very upset with me for taking a picture because I was blocking the T.V.

Hudson's 2 year well visit

Today Hudson had his 2 year doctor's appointment. Let me just tell you that he was NOT happy about it. He was totally fine playing in the waiting room with all the toys and he paid attention when they called his name to go back to the exam room. But once we were in the room the tears started flowing. He took one look at the table and freaked out. I could barely get him to sit on the scale to get his weight. Then he screamed when we laid him down to measure his height. Of course this was all with the nurse. He cried even harder with the doctor. I am not even sure how the doctor could hear his heartbeat with all that crying going on. Everything checked out fine. The doctor was impressed that Hudson was starting to potty train. Fortunately for Hudson it had not been a full six months since his last appointment so they were unable to give him his shots this visit. Looks like he will get those next month when Ethan goes in for a check up.

Weight 30 lbs. 11 oz (75th percentile)

Height 34 1/3 in. (50th percentile)

New Ethan stories

Since I use this site to help me with my scrapbooking later I must post some of Ethan's new stories. He has been a roll this week making us laugh. It is hard to believe that he will be 5 years old next month! Ethan's preschool teacher asked him what we were going to name the new baby and he quickly answered Luke Skywalker or Princess Leia. Most people would think that was pretty smart of him to come up with two names, obviously one for a boy and one for a girl since we don't know what we are having yet. The only catch is everytime we ask Ethan if he wants a brother or sister he replies "One of each". So that might be the reason he came up with the two names. As if this wasn't funny enough Matt was having a conversation with him about his name choices but added Frank as the last name. Ethan was very upset about this and insisted it was just going to be Luke Skywalker or Princess Leia without the Frank. Oh the imagination on that kid. Can you tell he is obsessed with Stars Wars???

Today I took the boys with me to Target. Funny how he can't read a book but he already knows which store is Target (or Wal-mart, or McDonalds). I can almost understand how familiar the stores get but what really caught me off guard was the products inside the store. Surprisingly I am not talking about toys. We were shopping for cleaning products and he asks me if we need more scrubbing bubbles. What???!!!! Sure enough he was pointing to a can of scrubbing bubbles. I don't even use that brand. It was hilarious. Next aisle he asks me if we need some new Airwicks. Once again I have never purchased Airwicks. I was cracking up by this point and he was getting upset with me. He wanted to know what was so funny. I asked him how he knew what Airwicks and scrubbing bubbles were and he matter of factly responds "it was on my T.V." So the advertisers are doing their job even a four year remembers their products in the store.

Super Birthday #2

We had so much fun last year with a Superbowl theme party for Hudson's birthday we thought we should do it again. Hudson still loves football and his birthday actually landed on Superbowl Sunday so that made it even better! Not only were we celebrating Hudson's birthday but he shares a birthday with his Aunt Summer. Cousin Kara(also 2) had a birthday on January 17th so we celebrated all three birthdays yesterday. The party was a huge success. Only thing that would have made it sweeter..... a Cardinal Win but at least it was a great game.
